Club 31 (2 Riebeeck Street, ABSA Building, Cape Town) – for those who like to party at high rise locations, this is the place to be in Cape Town. Located on the 31st floor of the ABSA Bank skyscraper, this is one of the city’s trendy nightspots – complete with imported fabrics, fiber-optic chandeliers and Italian marble finishes. Patrons come here just before the sunset (which affords a great view of the city and its outskirts (from Table Mountain to the wine country). Of course more partygoers show up after 10 pm, where the dance floor plays Top 40, R&B, Euro-House and locally-influenced dance music. A dress code is enforced, and there’s an age restriction at the door (25 for guys, 23 for girls). Usually, there’s a mature crowd on Fridays, and a younger crowd on Saturdays.
