Den Anker (Pierhead, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town) – given its location at Cape Town’s waterfront, Den Anker has the fortune of being situated an airy, windowed building directly overlooking the quayside. This is a Belgian eatery that provides dishes with a local South African influence (ranging from Fruits de Mer and soupe de poisson, to Chateaubriand of Springbok). Of course, Belgian beers like Stella are readily available. Note: Den Anker takes its Belgian brews so seriously, that each beer comes in its own special glass and individualized coaster.
