Lion Park

Lion Park (cnr Malibongwe & R114 Lanseria, Johannesburg) – the Lion Park in Lanseria, just outside Johannesburg, is a must-see experience. Celebrities from all over the world (from actress Natalie Portman to singer Shakira) can’t be wrong. Here you’re guaranteed sightings of magnificent lions, but they’re not the only attraction. There’s also the giraffe feeding station, and a chance to play with cubs.

You’re free to drive around by yourself, but there’s also the option of a game drive. A guide will give you information about the animals you’re seeing, making it an educational experience. You can also opt for a night drive and a meal in the boma, or simply go straight to the giraffe feeding station and marvel at those incredibly long tongues. Admission: R150 per adult (self-drive), R240 per adult (night drive). R30 extra to interact with the lion cubs. R140 (children 4-12 years), free for children under 4 years.
