Parreirinha

Parreirinha (9 Sixth Street, Rosettenville, Johannesburg) – those familiar with South Africa’s contemporary history will note that the country has long had a Portuguese community (which mushroomed after Portugal’s former African colonies, Angola and Mozambique, went independent in 1975). This restaurant, located in the Portuguese community of Rosettenville (south of Johannesburg) serves superb seafood (especially prawns), traditional dishes like Portuguese paella, as well as a respectable selection of Portuguese wines. Proof that not all the quality restaurants are north of Johannesburg.
